CLEVIOS™ P VP AI 4083 and
CLEVIOS™ P CH 8000 are both aqueous dispersions of the intrinsically conductive polymer poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) / poly(styrenesulfonate), or PEDT/PSS, with a solids content of approximately 1.5% or 2.5% accordingly. These electronic grade products were developed for the formation of thin, uniform intermediate layers between the transparent conductive oxide anode, e.g. indium tin oxide (ITO), and the light emitting layer of an organic or polymer light emitting diode (OLED or pLED). The use of electronic grade
CLEVIOS™ leads to a significantly improved overall device performance by smoothening of the anode surface and facilitating hole-injection.
Both CLEVIOS™ P VP AI 4083 and CLEVIOS™ P CH 8000 are usually applied by common spin-coating techniques and are especially recommended for use in OLEDs and pLEDs due to reduced particle size and number of gel particles when compared with the standard grade CLEVIOS™ P. For matrix array devices with small pixel sizes (10 microns or less), the CLEVIOS™ P CH 8000 is recommended due to its lower inherent conductivity than the other material. See the Product Information for both of these electronic grades of
CLEVIOS™ P for more informaiton.
The next three Steps Filtration, Pre-Conditioning of the ITO anode and Spincoating of electronic grade
CLEVIOS™ P give an overview of how the deposition of the electronic grade
CLEVIOS™ material can be carried out in the laboratory.
